Jonas
a mysterious traveller, intrigued by a young woman he
meets by the roadside riding a bicycle, follows her
and arrives in an isolated mythical village, lost in
time.
After
losing his possessions, he remains there and is forced
to find work with Lineu, a visionary inventor who, for
twenty years, devotes his life to sole purpose building
a perpetual motion machine.
Lineu uses as his workshop a disused mill, owned by
Geronio, the town's benefactor who now has modernizing
plans for Kenoma and for the mill, and wants Lineu out
of the mill at any cost.
Jonas'
life becomes reluctantly tied up with Lineu's obsession
for the machine and by his attraction for Tara.
Science,
