Black and White

A great proportion of Brazilians are of African descent, however the notions of a racial democracy widely held by many until recently yet recently such notions have been demystified…

Black & White portraying eight characters whose life-stories are intertwined to form a non-linear narrative flow that try to capture the Brazilian racial enigma.

Among the characters are a Samba dancer who married a European, a white racist, an African priestess who married a "white" man and a gangster rapper.

Interviews include wide and representative views from Brazilian society including scholars, artists and politicians on the race issue.

They try to answer a fundamental question: Is Brazil is a nation of great hope for human coexistence or is this conceit a hypocritical myth?
